The 2019 Festival is NOT an All-England qualifying Festival (2020 will be).
THERE IS CURRENTLY NO REQUIREMENT FOR COMPETITORS IN FESTIVALS THAT ARE HELD IN THE HAMPSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL AREA TO HAVE A CHILD PERFORMANCE LICENCE OR FOR THE FESTIVAL TO HAVE A BODY OF PERSONS APPROVAL (BOPA) TO COVER PERFORMANCES BY COMPETITORS UNDER THE AGE OF 18.
A number of local authorities, including Portsmouth, now require competitors in festivals to be licensed. Hampshire County Council have confirmed in writing that Aldershot & Farnborough DO NOT require one for their festival in 2019. Please note that the requirement depends on where the festival takes place, not on where the competitor lives. Even if you live in an area where the local authority requires a licence, you will not need one for the Aldershot & Farnborough Festival because it takes place in Hampshire.
Closing date for entries is 28th January 2019. Entries should be accompanied by a cheque for the entry fees (fees can now also be paid by internet bank transfer – see below), made payable to Aldershot & Farnborough Festival of Music and Art. Fees may also be paid by BACS transfer as shown below under “how to Pay”..
The age of a competitor for the 2019 Festival will be their age on 1st September 2018.
BEFORE 5th JANUARY 2019 Please post your signed entry forms, (and cheque for entry fees made payable to Aldershot & Farnborough Festival if that is how you choose to pay) to:
AFTER 5th JANUARY 2019 Please post your signed entry forms to:
Entries by e-mail will be accepted to avoid missing the entries deadline, but will be regarded as provisional until the fee and signed forms have been received.
We no longer have separate forms for solos, duets, trios and groups, and do not require different age groups to be entered on a separate form, but please ensure that it is clear how competitors are grouped. It is essential that dates of birth and class number (as shown in the tables in the syllabus) are included, and we ask that you write legibly (and preferably in block capitals) to avoid having to reprint certificates when names have been misread. We have provided continuation sheets to avoid the need to fill in contact details on every sheet.
How to Pay
Cheques should be made payable to the Aldershot & Farnborough Festival of Music and Art (please, NOT to any of the organisers personally), and posted with entry forms.

Please also e-mail Julia Ruskell at the address above, quoting the amount and reference used to alert us that payment has been made.
PLEASE NOTE that to comply with the Festival Safeguarding Policy it is necessary for the responsible adult making the entries for persons under 18 years old and vulnerable adults to sign every page of the entry forms. If you fail to do so the entry forms will be returned to you for signature and a charge made for postage.
